Making dessert in the slow cooker is my favorite thing.
Time and time again I have told you all about my love for apples. Whether that may be apples in the form of just a fruit snack, or applesauce, or better yet, a dessert. I love apple bread, apple cake, apple crisp and apple pie. All of them take me to apple heaven and with a scoop of ice cream? Oh man, you cannot go wrong with that! You also may not want to speak to me until I am done and do not dare take a bite out of mine… make your own!
I absolutely love this recipe specifically because it is not only an apple cobbler, but it is made in the crock pot! I mean, can it get any easier or better than my favorite kind of recipe dumped in a crock pot and then I have loads and loads of it when I come home from work and am ready to enjoy it!
One night I even had a sleepover with my sisters, we made this and then dumped a whole pint of ice cream over this! We just let it melt and get all soft and wonderful until we were ready to eat it. Boy oh boy was it good, we ate it to the very last bite!
Apple recipes are so simple to make. All of them are similar and have lots of elements that go together well. The best way to prep apples is with spices. They really bring out the flavors of the apples. My favorites for this recipe are nutmeg and cinnamon. They give the perfect touch of spice while not overbearing. They are sweet and wonderfully soft and the best dessert, EVER!
Check out what our friends over at Amanda’s Cookin’ had to say about this:
“If you’re looking for an easy dessert, this cake mix apple cobbler is as easy as “set it and forget it”. You’ll use the crock pot for this delicious treat, and using a cake mix as the base makes it convenient and simple.”
I absolutely agree. This is convenient, simple, yet still utterly delicious. The crock pot has become my best friend for making apple cobbler.
