When a good friend was helping to clean out her grandmothers house she found this vintage corner shelf and she thought of me. I have more than a few house plants, you might call it an obsession. Sometimes finding places to put those plants can be a challenge.

Vintage Corner Shelf Divided
This great little wood corner shelf was a perfect place to put some of the plants. But it was so tall that it was unstable. Especially when heavy houseplants were put on the top shelves. I had to anchor it to the wall as it was. I really wanted to keep the shelf, but it wasn’t working as it was, so I decided to divide it.
The shelf came apart in pieces so this was a very simple fix! All I had to do was take the middle spindles from the shelf and saw them in half.
I painted the spindles with my favorite bright chalk paint color “Treasure”
And I stained the platforms with Java Gel Stain
I’m so pleased with how it turned out!
Now I have two shorter, but much sturdier corner shelves for my plants!
