As I always say, there’s nothing better than an old fashioned recipe from granny’s cooking book right! This butter cake with buttercream frosting is one of a kind! Check it out!
You’ll Need (for the cake):
3 cups of all purpose flour.
1 tsp of baking powder.
1 tsp of salt.
½ tsp of baking soda.
1 cup of butter.
2 cups of sugar.
4 eggs.
1 cup of buttermilk or cream.
2 tsps of vanilla extract.
You’ll Need ( for the buttercream frosting):
1 cup of softened butter.
½ cup of milk or cream.
2 tsps of vanilla extract.
5 cups of powdered sugar.
How to:
In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix together the butter, sugar then mix in the eggs and vanilla.
Add in the buttermilk alternately with the flour mixture.
In a greased and floured 9×13 baking or bundt pan, pour the batter and bake in a preheated oven to 350° for 1 hour.
Let the cake cool.
To make the frosting, smooth together the butter and vanilla, add in sugar alternating with milk and mix to get the consistency you want.
Pour the frosting over the cooled cake evenly and Voila!
