A scandalously delicious cake!
When I first tasted this, it was in the comforts of the kitchen of one of my friends. Whenever I have the time, I go to one of my friends’ houses that is just nearby. I bring my twins so they can get out of the house and play with other kids their age. Most of the time, I go to Vanessa’s house since she is a full-time housewife. Her two kids, one boy and one girl, are her only responsibilities for the whole day, which is why she all has the time in the kitchen.
Okay, I confess. Other than wanting to see my friend and have my kids play with her kids, I want to taste a new creation of hers. Well, to be fair with me, she loves to use me as her food tester!
This Watergate cake is something new to me. So when she told me about it, I immediately asked her, “Was it named after that… you know…” And she just laughed. Vanessa told me she didn’t know. She got this recipe online and wanted to try it because it looked really delicious. So while I was telling her about my days at home, my kids, and my husband, she was baking what’s soon-to-be-known as one of the best cakes ever!

This Watergate cake is a winner for my husband too. After that afternoon with Vanessa and her kids, I planned on surprising my husband with this a few days later. Sure enough, he was surprised. The look on his face when he tasted it was Facebook profile photo material! It was obvious he loved it, most especially when he asked if I could make it again soon.
