I found this little side table on a yard sale site. It was dirty, dusty, and scratched up but there was a great little table under all that dirt! It just needed a little TLC!

It looked Dirty, and dated when I started!

The cane piece on the shelf under the glass was in fantastic shape!

It’s easiest to refinish a piece if you can take it apart to do it! This sweet little table came completely apart, no need to tape anything. After a good cleaning and light sanding I was ready to get to work!

Most of this piece had a wood veneer. Instead of painting the whole thing though, I just wanted to stain the top piece a little darker. With a light sanding the stain went on fine, it only takes one coat to stain veneer but you have to seal it afterwords to keep it from being scratched off. A coat of polyurethane worked fine!

I stained the cane piece and put it back in over the white bottom shelf, and I etched the glass to hide a few of the larger scuff marks! It looks like a whole new table now!
