My favorite part of Thanksgiving is eating!
Anyone agree with me? I mean I can’t be the only one that loves to divulge in a delicious, hearty Thanksgiving meal. I love this holiday because there are so many foods that you typically make only one dish per meal, all at one table at the same time! So many yummy choices that you have to figure out how you are going to fit it all on your plate.
You’ve got turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn, homemade biscuits, and my absolute favorite, sweet potato casserole. I could eat this delicious side dish all year around. In fact, I tend to make it as a side dish a couple of times a month. My family loves it too.
This recipe is a little different than the normal. No marshmallows here! Instead, you have a sweet, nutty, and crunchy topping that takes this dish from good to great! This recipe is so delicious that it is addicting. Who needs only mashed potatoes when you have sweet potatoes in the house. Once you try this recipe, there is no going back to the old way!
We always go over to my mother’s house for Thanksgiving. When I was all grown up and moved out, it was officially my time to bring a dish for the table. I said right away that I would take care of the sweet potatoes and I did just that. But I didn’t want to bring the same old recipe. I found this recipe and everyone was so impressed and gobbled it right up! Since then everyone knows that if I am bringing a dish, then I am bringing Sweet Potato Pecan Casserole!
Everyone will love this recipe and will not even remember that there are not marshmallows!
