Chocolate cake is my favorite cake. I love to have it whenever I have the chance.
Say, any birthday party or special occasion. I love the chocolate cake my local supermarket, Publix, makes. It is fluffy and really chocolatey. However, what I love most, is making my grandma’s homemade chocolate cake recipe. It is a bit denser and way more chocolatey and that is what I love about it. The frosting is rich and creamy and there is no need to add anything else to it. It is simply perfect.
Now, being a baker, I know what it takes to make a perfect cake. The butter needs to be at a certain temperature and so do the eggs. Any water needs to be either very hot or very cold. The flour needs to be measured just so and there are so many other variables that can affect the way a cake is baked and the results after that.
However, this cake is different. You do not need to follow all those little rules in order to achieve a delicious cake. It is yummy no matter how you prepare it, so this is definitely the perfect cake for when you are in a rush but still want something amazing.
Let this be the next birthday cake you make. The frosting is creamy and really delicious, while the cake is dense, rich, yet the perfect balance of sweet and strong. If you add a bit of coffee to the mixture, it makes the chocolate taste even stronger and you will love the results. I personally love it like that, with a dollop of whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream, or even just a glass of milk. Whatever you choose, this cake will certainly not disappoint.
