This Tart Will Make You Forget Your Manners!
Over the years I’ve noticed there is a bit of a competition between certain ladies at our church potluck each month. It’s nothing serious, and these ladies have been friends for years so it’s not like they’re fighting for the throne, haha! But they always come up with these incredible cakes, pies and dessert bars and kind of glance at each other to see which one’s plate gets emptied first. I think it’s funny, but also great for me!
You see, when they are trying to create more delicious desserts month after another, I get to try all of these yummy things and usually they even share the recipe. I’ve found many new favorites among their recipes!
Last month one of the ladies brought this incredible caramel pecan tart and I almost fainted when I had my first bite. I didn’t think it was humanly possible to make anything that delish! There wasn’t a crumb left on her plate after 10 minutes – it was like a pack of hyenas had suddenly found their way to a super festive meal!
You can use the same recipe to turn these into caramel-pecan bars! Just prepare everything as directed, but use a 13×9″ pan instead of a tart pan.
Line the pan with aluminum foil and grease it lightly. Then press the crumb mixture evenly on bottom and 3/4 inch up the sides of the pan. When completely cool, using the aluminum foil as handles, carefully lift it from the pan, and transfer to a serving tray. Cut into squares. No matter which way you’re making this, I guarantee it’s going to be absolutely delightful!
